| I did this with some friends during Christmas break. The first part is really steep, but the views are nice and the trail is safe to walk the whole way. There's a campsite about a mile or two from the summit. The trail was frozen the last mile. Had to crawl on some switchbacks to avoid slipping off the mountain. Very windy. | ||

| Perfect weather when I hiked this trail, and couldn't have asked for a nicer night camping at the high peak campsite. There was virtually no wind at all, which was nice b/c 2 days before I arrived it was 75mph! | |

| There is an old saying that "everything is big in Texas", so I guess it is appropriate this was the site of my 40th State Highpoint reached. Gorgeous scenery and great weather (minus the wind!) at the summit. I was the first one on the summit that day, but passed MANY people on the way down. Perhaps the trail should be renamed the "Guadalupe Peak Superhighway". | |

| Clear skies but boy did it get warm fast. Wish there were more detailed maps available of the trail that showed all the switchbacks. Still one of the most scenic trails I been on. | |

| My buddy and I summited via the Guadalupe Peak Trail and then traversed over to El Capitan with an overnight stay before and afterwards at the high camp. The weather was absolutely beautiful with little or no wind. This turned out to be one of my all-time favorite trips to the mountains! If you are a True Texan then this is a must do hike. | ||
