| Climbed the Gwächtenhorn on ski's on a stormy day (Foehn wind!). We started at Hotel Steingletscher and took the normal ski route. The route is easy and very enjoyable. Found all kinds of snow on the descent (the best and the worst). | |

| Lovely route, especially if you have limited time (or experience). I climbed it solo, beginning at 5AM so that I could get down to the car before the weather turned bad (5 minutes after my wife and I reached the car, it began to rain!). Beautiful sunrise, fun easy mixed climbing due to all the snow in that fell in August of this year, and views all the way to the Dent d'Herens and Dent Blanche while on the summit. Can be easily combined with the easy normal route of the Sustenhorn. | |

| A lonely place in august to climb Gwächtenhorn...? Chelenalphütte ! On the SE flank ot the mountain, almost half way between Sustenhorn and Gwächtenhorn. Four persons on the top that day. Bright sun, but it was raining/snowing several days before...and it would do so the next days ! | ||

| There was very much snow in the face and nobody, who had made a path for us ;-(. Andreas left his ski at the bottom of the face, while I took them with me, so that I could go to Sustenhorn directly after having climbed Gwächtenhorn Northface. | Rather cloudy day, started at 6 AM. First group, later on three other groups followed. Rain and snowfall, but on the summit we found excellent weather conditions and panorama. Even saw Weisshorn and Matterhorn! It took us 2,5 hours. | ||
