Hawksbill Mountain | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
A great fall day in the Shenandoah National Park. This view is looking north from the summit of Hawksbill Mountain, the highest elevation in the entire park at 4,050'. On the short trail to the top I actually met a bear meandering in the woods about 25 yards away and proceed to watch him dig in the leaves, lay down, and frolic for around 10 minutes. Then some people came and made him nervous so that he went further into the forest. (October 7, 2007) |
