HDR Photos
HDR or High Dynamic Range photos allows a greater range of light within a picture by taking multiple exposures of the same composition, and having the highly contrasted areas better represented. The intention of HDR is to better represent a wider range of light levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows. In theory, the HDR attempts to most accurately represent in a photo the colors and contrasts that a human eye perceives.For an excellent HDR primer see: Vid Pogachnik's SP article on HDR
