Heading onto the long ridge....

Seen while looking back at the summit, this is Aaron Johnson beginning the long trek (it's 2.5 miles if climbing Flinsch; slightly more if bypassing Flinsch, and joining the Dawson Pass Trail) along the ridge running between Rising Wolf and Flinsch Peak.

Scree Skiing

Minor scree skiing is encountered just below the summit, staying to the right of the black cliff band. Then it's a joyous walk over stable ground for another mile or two to the trail leading to Dawson Pass.

Just checked on the Montana Topo map, and it's 2.5 miles along the ridge, summit to summit; slightly more if doing as we did and rejoining the Dawson Pass Trail while bypassing Flinsch.
