Headwall

This was the end of the real climbing on Stockaid, and the view is from the top of the second of two major rock islands in the couloir. Initially, I planned to get over to the rocks in order to avoid the headwall, but I discovered that doing so would require a nearly vertical glissade of about 20', with a loss of control leading a loss of 1000' the fast, unpleasant way. Instead, I climbed up the headwall, which also was pretty much completely vertical, at the right end of the section pictured. There, the headwall was about 7 or 8 feet high and not overhanging at all.
