Very cool short hike through wildflowers and alpine trees to awesome views. The folks manning the lookout are friendly and informative.

Smoky views due to forest fires
Visited after a great rafting trip on the Main Salmon. Views were limited due to a lot of forest fire smoke. A previous visit in the early '80s with climbs in the nearby mountains to the south was magnificent.

This is a must do hike if you're in the Seven Devils Mountains. The view looking back at the high peaks and down toward Hells Canyon is one of the best. I talked with the guy who works at the lookout and he showed me several fires that were in the area.

Climbed up from the north ridge. Have also driven up in the past and hiked the short trail to the lookout. Lots of people here, but still a neat mountain with fantastic views.
