Here's the view of the last bit before the summit as seen from the summit plateau. Even though the weather was relatively warm with soft snow (March 13th 2004), the shells and winter garb had to come on at this point since the aerobic steep climbing was over and the wind and cold picked up quite a bit here. As you see from the footsteps, we traversed along the middle and then straight up after the rocks. The snow was very hard and icy, so steps had to be cut with the ice axe and boots kicked in to secure footing. Beautiful day!
