Great Scramble  Sucess!

Awesome scramble! Steep bootpath all the way to the chimney leading to the summit. Great views of surrounding peaks. Hot day!

Great Scramble!  Sucess!

What a great peak! Easy trail in followed by a super steep boot path that kind of reminded me of the Baring mountain trail. I absolutely loved the final class 3 gully, I just with it had been a couple hundred feet longer! Didn't see anybody on the boot path, despite many on their way to Rachel Lake on a busy sunny Saturday. Clouds blocked some of the best views so now I have an excuse to go back. :) Snapped a trekking pole on the way down which was a bummer. All in all a fantastic trip! Just under 5 hours car to car with about 30 minutes on the summit.

Sweet hike  Sucess!

Nice Hike. Way too steep and the bootpath was a bit tricky at times but the views were well worth it.

Hibox Mountain  Sucess!

Lots of Huckleberries and blueberries on the S slope, good scramble at the top from the W side instead of normal E side

Fresh snow... clearing weather  Sucess!

Great day out with mixed bag of weather and variable climbing conditions. Rain and low clouds greeted us early, rain turned to snow about 4500ft, and finally clearing ensued as we topped out on the summit block. Peek-a-boo views came and went, but the local scenery sufficed with about 4" fresh snow really enhancing the scene.

spring 2011  Sucess!

thought we could drive to the TH, but encountered 3 ft of snow on the road still. An extra 2.5 mile hike with route finding through the trees finally led us to the peaks south face. All snow, except for summit. triggered a few avies on the way down, heavy sluffs.

"Either a foot more or a foot less."

Three sunny days in a row made the new snow melty and slippery. Clear skies made it nice to sit in the sun and take in the amazing views.

With Bryan  Sucess!

This summit has the best views of the "Rock Kingdom" I have seen yet. Lemah, Chimney, and Overcoat.

Here's a film by Bryan:

I'm Back!  Sucess!

I did not get enough time to hang out on the summit in my previous visit. Unfortunately this time it was socked in. Trail is easily followed with care. I would hate to get off route on the way down, or try to do it in the dark. 5.5 hours car to car.

Amazing views  Sucess!

Much tougher than anticipated. The views are some of the best in the Cascades! Avoided the Devil's club on the descent as much as possible.
