Most summited peak in the USA?  Sucess!

I really don't consider this a peak in the sence of a worthwhile destination regarding a hike or climb. It was just there between Baldy and AF Twins. I'm certain more poeple have stood on its summit than any other peak in Utah, or possibly even the Western US, maybe even all the US.

Climbed again June 11, 07 and it did happen to be a worthwhile destination. Hiked 3000' vertical mainly off trail up thru Gad Valley. Solitude and outstanding views of many peaks I've summited was the reward for the grunt. Took the ridge trail down for a nice loop half day hike.

Re: Most summited peak in the USA?

Bignick - other people will consider it a worthwhile destination. There are many different kinds of folks on SP. Besides, if someone like me wants to create a mountain page, what mountain can I do it with? Almost all the mountains near my home already have pages.

Route: On the road from snowbird  Sucess!

An easy hike with a road going all the way to the top. Even easier on the tram

several times in one day  Sucess!

Took the tram to the top several times in one day during a Spring Break ski trip with Brett Latimer and Bret Coulter. Rode the tram again on August 4th, 2007 and hiked up American Fork Twin Peaks and back.

Kept it honest  Sucess!

Yes, I have taken the tram up to Hidden Peak, but I can also say I climbed it via Albion Basin & Peruvian Gulch (off trail).

Felt like cheating  Sucess!

It almost feels like cheating to have an accessable bathroom with running water and flushing toilets.
Hit this one up again on an early morning trip with Matt, Dan and Brent just before moving my butt to Italy.

Easy  Sucess!

I have been on top several times skiing and taking the tram up to go hiking. I don't think it is worth climbing unless you actually go on to climb the Twins at the same time. I was there in Aug of 2006 and the sound of backhoes and trucks building a tunnel in Peruvian Gulch kind of made me mad.

Yet Another Bump on the Hill  Sucess!

Climbed various times on the Bullion Divide and climbs on the American Fork Twin Peaks.

I last climbed it in June 2006, where I reached the summit in 1hr10min from the Snowbird Lodge via Gad Valley.

Gad Valley  Sucess!

I was planning to climb American Forks Twin Peaks via Gad Valley, but I took a wrong turn and wound up on the Twin Peaks/Hidden Peak knife edge. I wussed out there, but salvaged the hike somewhat by heading over to Hidden Peak, and then on to Baldy. From there I took Peruvian Gulch back down. The weather was nice and sunny, but there was some haze in the air from wildfires off to the east.

hiked over from AF canyon  Sucess!

backpacked at Pittsburgh Lake, scrambled up the ridge descending south from Sugarloaf, followed the Bullion Divide over Baldy and onto Hidden Peak. Talked the Tram operator to letting us ride down for free. Hitch-hiked down the canyon and caught a bus home. Awesome little trip.

Bullion Divide  Sucess!

Just did this as part of the bullion divide. I was able to use the restroom and fill up on water. It was kinda sad to see this peak invaded by society.

Bullion divide  Sucess!

Found my way from Baldy on the road to the top. 3 or 4 ATVs passed us. Once on the top I exchanged pleasantries with the tourists (I was an attraction too, as I had a fast and light backpacking setup). We sat around in the warming (or cooling) house for a while, used the john, checked the pay phone for change, filled our water, and continued on our merry way.

I'm somewhat saddened by the evil snowbird has done to this, otherwise nice, peak.

Many routes, Many times  Sucess!

This mountain is accessible to everyone and there are many hiking trails that lead to the summit. I first climbed Hidden Peak from Albion Basin by climbing over Mount Baldy and traversing over Hidden Peak and then continuing on the Bullion Divide ridge. Gad Valley and Peruvian Gulch are good hikes.

Tradgedy  Sucess!

I've climbed this hil or peak many times, but it gets worse as the years go on it seems. More and more ski runs have been added, and now a rediculous convention center is proposed for the summit. Just what we need. Convention centers on the summits of some of the highest peaks in the Wasatch and ajacent to the wilderness area.

My first peak  Sucess!

First peak of any significance I ever climbed, with my dad and two brothers via Gad Valley back in August 1983. Lots of big snow patches up high from the ridiculous snowpack from the previous winter. Used to be free tram rides down if you hiked up, not sure if that is still the case. Hiked up Peruvian Gulch the next year, and have climbed Hidden Peak many times since then.
