A good place to take tourists in town during Octoberfest. Go up tram, walk down to the tunnel, go through, take Pruvian lift down. Few tunnel pics at http://www.willhiteweb.com/salt_lake_city/sights_attractions_070.htm

Parked at the Cecret TH at Alta, went up and over Sugarloaf, down into Mineral Basin, then up to Hidden. Didn't realize at the time the name of the peak, or it's significance. Just knew it was the spot where the Snowbird tram led. Got to top just as sun was setting. Beautiful.

The harder way from the Alta parking lot... Started with a short snow climb up the "Eddie's High Nowhere" couloir, then along the ridge to the base of Baldy and around the back to Hidden Peak. Nice change of scenery from the Cecret Lake approach.

Moogie737Several times, various routes  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 23, 2017

Today was my fourth time climbing to this peak. Today was a snowshoe affair with Mt. Baldy thrown in for good measure. Started from the Peruvian Express lift. Earlier in this winter we climbed the west Snowbird ridge, hit Am. Fork Twins and then went to the peak for a tram ride down. Climbing ascents #5 & 6 on 8-5 and 8-6-08, one from AF Twins and the other via the Peruvian Gulch trail. Been here so many times as part of ridge runs. #10(?)+ 7-20-10 From Snowbird Center. Of course, took the tram down! :) #11 2-22-12 Snowshoed from the Activities Ctr on the Peruvian side of the resort. 40mph winds along the route - lucky to catch the tram down. #12 5-22-12 After Mt. Baldy; took the north ridge route down. Nice consolidated snow on which to tromp. #13 & #14 7-10 and 7-12-12. The tenth w/ Brent as part of Bullion Divide from Red Baldy, the the 12th with Heavyweight Bob B., my old Air Farce chum. From Iron Blosam Lodge via Peruvian Gulch and Ridge Trails. #15 7-23-12 Led portion of CFA group up via Ridge Trail from Snowbird Centre in 1+30. Just beat a mountain downpour of gigantic proportions! #16 Solo 8-20-12 A "just for fun" sprint from entry 2 parking slot to add on to another hike which was aborted due to a fellow hiker's injured calf. #17 7-4-13 Celebration of Independence Day. #18 and #19 7-9-13 and 7-11-13 in combo w/ Red Top from White Pine, AF Twins, Mt. Baldy. Nice tram ride down. #20, 21, 22, 23 on 8-27-13 & 9-17-13 in 6-mile r/t from Level 2 parking at the Bird, then to Hidden, Baldy, Sugarloaf, Baldy and back to Hidden for the tram ride. Elevation gain is @4,800'. #24 6-14-14 acclimatization hike for Greg C. Very cold & windy. Jawohl-IVD. #25 7-21-14 For Snowbird group. 1+19 up. Denkend an dich. #26 & #27 6-30-15 W/Brent-part of Haystack, AF Twins & & a quick romp over to Mount Baldy. #28, 29 7-11-15. Here, then to Baldy & Sugarloaf & return. Dirtybird race in full swing. #30 8-25-15. W/ Rick my fine son-in-law via north ridge. #31 9-28-15. Mit Yz. Tram down. #32 9-8-15 W/Brent. Threw in Baldy just for greens. 1+45 up. Tram down, of course. #33, 34 9-19-15 W/Yz. Rehab hike #2. Add Mt Baldy! #35 6-29-16 W/ Brent via Peruvian Gulch TH. 1+55 up. #36 7-1-16 W/ Yz 1+55 up, tram down. #37 7-12-16 W/ Brent. 1+54 up, tram down. #38 7-19-16 W/ Brent 2+10 up, tram down. #39 7-30-16 W/ Lana. Up 1+56, tram down. #39 8-12-16 w/ Brent & Lana, before and after Baldy and Sugarloaf. #40 8-13-16 W/ Yz. Up in 1+59, tram down. Oktoberfest im August! #41 & #42 8-27-16 Via North Ridge and then back from Mt. Baldy. W/ Yz. A bit of the spine, too. #43 9-13-16 W/ Brent. Standard deal. 2+12 up. #44 & #45 9-30-16 A double w/ Lana. Hiked Peruvian Gulch/North Ridge trail both time and enjoyed the 2 rides down on the tram. Still 8" of snow in scattered places near the top. #46 & #47 6-27-17 For Snowbird. Solo checkout hike in the a.m. and group hike in the p.m. #48 6-30-17 W/ Yahdazoe 2+00 up. #49 w/ Brent, Dave & Lana. Last peak on partial Bullion Divide from White Pine to Red Baldy, etc. #50 & #51 7-24-17 W/ Lana. Hiked from Snowbird, then across the spine to AF Twin Peaks, then back over the spine to Hidden Peak and tram down. Love that spine scramble. #52 7-28-17 W/ YZ. 2+02 up in light rain. #53 & #54 8-12-17 w/ Brent & Lana. Up in 1+43, then over to AF Twins and back. 1st day of Oktoberfest. #55 9-16-17 W/ Brent & Lana. 27 degrees at tram, 1"+ new snow and 15-mph winds. Otherwise pleasant. #56 9-23-17 W/ Kevin S., Brent & Lana. 27 degrees at tram. then to Baldy.

BignickMost summited peak in the USA?  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 6, 2001

I really don't consider this a peak in the sence of a worthwhile destination regarding a hike or climb. It was just there between Baldy and AF Twins. I'm certain more poeple have stood on its summit than any other peak in Utah, or possibly even the Western US, maybe even all the US.

Climbed again June 11, 07 and it did happen to be a worthwhile destination. Hiked 3000' vertical mainly off trail up thru Gad Valley. Solitude and outstanding views of many peaks I've summited was the reward for the grunt. Took the ridge trail down for a nice loop half day hike.
