The normal route to Piz Palü east goes over the ridge. To get up there, you have to follow the east ridge, which is a bit steep at times.

As long as it isn't pure ice, this angle isn't too bad. Nevertheless, on coming down, as we did, you'll need to be focussed, to avoid slipping.
