The red on the hiker really adds to this photo. The clouds are also very interesting. Did you use a filter to darken the sky?

Thanks for the compliments. It wasn't much of anything I did, just a beautiful evening provided by nature! I think the way it works is the sky both absorbs and scatters the red and green elements of the sunlight, but the scattering is more to the sides and away from the source, than back at the source, so if the sun is behind you as in this photo, you won't see the scattered light that washes out the deep blue sky color - no filter necessary. Mostly I just exposed for the bright areas and let the shadows go almost black, since they didn't take up too much area in the frame.
