Hochgall / Collalto seen from...
Hochgall / Collalto seen from Rain / Riva (close-up, March 2002). Please notice Hochgall hut / Rifugio di Roma just under the summit position. The normal route from Italy traverses the rocky fore-summit called "Graues Noeckl" and then climbs the ridge directly. (summer picture for comparison)

PS: I don't know if you have checked my CV...

but I'm a researcher at the National Research Council of Italy and I study Remote Sensing imagery in monitoring Alpine glaciers. Tomorrow I'll be to a congress in Padova: the study area are Aurine and Pusteresi Alps. Can I use your image (with the copyright.. ;-))) ) for the first slide????? thanks!

of course you may - I feel honored ! Please tell if you need pictures with a higher resolution.

Is the new picture of last September's conditions also interesting for you?
