Nice little jaunt  Sucess!

Nothing really of note, the dampness of the sand made ascent a little better than if it were completely dry. Nice views. Also inspected the SE area of the summit ridge, quite possible the highest point is over there.

New year hike   Sucess!

Successfully hiked up to Hot spring mountain and mountain with cross with 17 hikers and 3 dogs from South. Trail was snow and ice free most of the time, if you are planning to hike from east be prepared for snow and icy conditions during winter.

Does Cairn Size Matter?  Sucess!

I felt that the southeast part of the summit area is higher, and has a big boulder that is the true high point. But I guess the summit is wherever someone has built a huge cairn?

Bad Road  Sucess!

Had a bit of confusion on the correct track, wound up going to far east and then cross country on the top of the ridge. Coming down there were several deep ruts (6-10 feet) that cut right through the trail requiring some careful crossing, usually higher up to avoid potential trouble. Still a lot of fun though!

Perfect weather  Sucess!

Hiked from my brother's home in Minden with his two dogs, Milo and Casey, around the east side gully then up to the summit.

Hiked with two buddies  Sucess!

Ideal weather for January. I wore shorts and a t-shirt. It was sandy, but not too difficult. We all made the summit.
