This seems to have a mysterious and enigmatic
quality, one that I cannot completely understand ...

What am I looking at? Is that snow or sand?

Where's the trees? Did they get covered up
by the snow ???

	Hasn't voted	It's snow and there are no trees up there. White balance went crazy so the colours are quite far from true, just take a look at the sky. There's a man standing near a small hut covered by snow in the lower right corner of the picture, maybe it helps you to understand the scale.
