beautiful area with great cliff faces  Sucess!

From our campsite just north of butte 6837 (a flat bone-dry cheatgrass meadow off of 4WD road), we followed ridge north past points 6664, 6930, 7770 & 7763. We crossed the head of the canyon, climbed the ridge and ascended the north summit first, then the south (higher) one.

Howell  Sucess!

Great hike with Ben Stokes. Definitely worth taking the time to hike off the summit a ways to check out the impressive system of cliffs in the Middle House Range.

Nice hike  Sucess!

We went NW up the side wash that starts at 39.30739 113.35608 to shortly past the point where a small cliff blocks the middle and then headed WSW towards the south summit. This wash was great except for the cliff which was difficult to get up. From the south summit we went to the north summit, then to the overlook, and then to Point 8112.

North Slope  Sucess!

Beautiful area! I love the huge cliffs that are all over the House Range.

Howell Peak  Sucess!

Went through the canyon and then up toward the saddle. I followed the ridge from there to the summit. On the way down I hiked to the overlook which had a nice cliff. Great view from here.

Nice peak  Sucess!

April 1997. A nice peak to climb as long as you don't go in summer.
