The hiking here is very short and simple. Know that the unmapped continuation of the summit road does descend a bit and curl around but it gets you to the summit soon enough.
As far as the driving, it's easier than it looks on the map. For the most part the pathway that you want is in better condition than a lot of the various spurs.
