This was the culmination of a very nice weekend trip to Maine. I started from the Katahdin Stream campground, using the Hunt Trail as my ascent route. I started early which afforded me the chance to hike alone. I thought about what it was like for Thoreau to climb the mountain 150 years ago. I caught a few views from the summit plateau before the clouds rolled in. While I was on the summit, a father-daughter team reached the top, concluding their long trek of the entire Appalachian Trail, something I look forward to doing for myself someday.
