Iceberg Notch Summer Ski Descent

Climbed and skied w/ Adrien Regglebruge in July 2022. We solo'ed up the snow and made it around 80% of the way up before getting turned around by moats. Very engaging skiing, maybe bring 2 ice axes and a rope!

1500 feet of continuous steep skiing in July, can't ask for much more!

It's amazing how many mountaineering possibilities this notch opens up for climbers. It's also amazing how many mountain goat carcass eating possibilities it opens up for wolverines.

Notch and back  Sucess!

First time to Iceburg Lake and Many Glacier area for that matter. Quite stunning! Climbed a loose but fun gully near the base of the route to get to the actual route. Rest of route while a little loose was a lot of fun. Class 3 most of the way with the short 4 section near the upside down F

en route to Ahern Peak  Sucess!

I agree with Bob; I was very surprised at how easy it was to find the route. Class III for most of the way, with a rather easy class IV pitch climbing through the algal reef. Made my way down to Ahern Pass and climbed Ahern Peak afterwards.

Second time to the Notch on 08/31/12, followed by a climb of Iceberg Peak. Followed Continental Divide south and took JG Edwards incredible route through North Swiftcurrent Glacier Basin back to the trail east of Swiftcurrent Pass. Unbelievable stuff.

Iceberg Notch  Sucess!

Climbed with Vern Ingraham enroute to Ahern and Ipasha. Had some trouble finding the route back down straying too far to the right into cliffs initially.
