Icy Summit Pyramid of Chopicalqui
The icy summit pyramid of Chopicalqui, in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru, emerging from storm clouds after our descent from the peak. No views from the top, but spectacular scenery as the storm cleared out. By Howie Silleck, July 9, 2007.

The ice flutings definitely have an otherworldly feel to them.

Howie,

The contrasts are gorgous, especially in the departing storm. When I did it I only had bluebird days.....

Thanks CClaude - I wish we'd had some blue skies that day! I was a bit disappointed by the weather during our climb, but I really do like experiencing the mountains in varied conditions. Sometimes bad weather makes for interesting stories!

Another great shot. The ice formations in front don't even look real when viewing you shot full size. This one would be on a wall somewhere in the house. Keep up the great work!
