Shoshoni Peak, taken under a full moon around 9:45pm, from Lake Isabelle. April 23, 2005. Technical details: Nikon D70, Nikkor 18mm Lens, 200 ISO, f5.6, 30 sec exposure. Handheld external flash fired once in tent and once on trees.

I'm surprised with a large aperture, full moon and all that snow a 30-second exposure didn't overexpose the image! ;-)

Hey Mark, Your comment got me wondering, so I re-checked the EXIF data on the image, and you're right, it was shot at f5.6, 30sec. Still pretty wide open though. The night was clouding up though, so the moon wasn't in full force.

Great shot! Good call on the use of the flash. I have tried doing something similar via "painting" with a headlamp inside the tent, and it didn't work.
