My dad climbs off the north...
My dad climbs off the north end of The Sawtooth (September 7, 2002). Look at the relief in that smile! As you can see there is a good deal of exposure once you cross over from the east face to the west face. The exposure alone wouldn't have been that bad, but the last 200-yard stretch was really loose scree and dirt which afforded no reliable hand or foot holds. I have noted our route with a red line. This is a nice view of the Sawtooth. It's nice to view something new when viewing Evans and Bierstadt photos. 4 stars.

Andy, Those are some great shots of the Sawtooth and a nice route description. One of these days I am going to try that route!

"Never! Never, Marge! I can't live the button-down life like you. I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles. Sure, I might offend a few of the bluenoses with my cocky stride and musky odors - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called city fathers, who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?!"   --Homer Simpson
