You captured the essense of the plant! I'm assuming that this is the Claret Cup.

No this isn't a claret cup. But I'll work on it and get back with the ID. The photo is really great! It looks like lace cactus, Echinocereus reichenbachii, but the spines look too long. That corner of Oklahoma has some nice rarities!
