Hasn't voted | Well there are quite some passes on this picture but Fedaia is not among them. It is on the far side of Marmolada and Gran Vernel. Here you are looking at the heart of the Marmolda Group where you won't find any road.

Voted 10/10 | The famous Passo fedaia, know as well as La Marmolada, has 2057 m. and one face starts from Caprile.
It´s one of the most famous mountain passes in Giro d´Italia as Stelvio, Passo Pordoi, Fedaia, Gavia, Agnello, Mont Cenis. Passo di Gardena, Fauniera, Stelvio and many others...
It´s a completely different world, but they are not easy to "climb" with your bike.

Hasn't voted | Well, Passo Pordoi is quite close by - just on the opposite side of the Padon Ridge. About 30 turns and on each day in the summer you can see groups of bikers going up there. I wouldn't mind trying but in addition to the bikers you have the usual traffic - cars, busses, mobile homes. I wouldn't like going up in a cloud of Diesel exhaust.
As for the location of the passes have a look at the Marmolada Group page. There is a little map of the Padon Chain. Fedaia Pass is at the lake, Pordoi Pass is just outside the map to the top left. | | Posted Aug 10, 2005 3:33 pm |

You should try climbing the passes ;-)
By the way Marmolada Group page it´s simply fascinating! I only knew Dolomites from Giro de Italia... and know I´d really like to visit them.
