I've hiked up to the Glacier at Grinell, and there was a Grizzly on the trail.

Not uncommon in that area. We spent a couple hours one afternoon at the Many Glacier campground watching eight (8) different bears! Five grizzlies (on the nearby mountain side) and 3 black bears (wandering through camp).

During the berry season in Many Glacier I once counted 13 grizzlies on the mountain face north of the road just before it arrives at the hotel. That is grizzly country for sure!
