Some teams ascending, some are going down towards Camp 1 (500 vertical meters down on the glacier), which is located just right of "The Tooth". This is one of the easier parts of the climb in between C 1 and C2. Only shorter sections with snow up to 70 degrees. Altitude: 6450m.

This photo should be B&W! Love the feeling that these shadows portray... Makes me feel that I am there.

Great work!

Thanks Misha!

The light that morning was very difficult.

Those shadows in B&W would've been even more dramatic.

Great light and contrast indeed !
A lot of your photos have this black & white (yet colour) aspect.
Real talent you have ;o)

Thanks for the kind words. On altitude, early in the morning there's very little color when it's a clear day. This one came out almost b/w and I like the shot myself very much.

Thanks Lolli!

It's also one of my favorites, both the photo and that part of the route. So much air and open space there - yummy.

I think it's my favorite in the series as well, and the "flying avalanche".

I actually have a few B&W, but I haven't even developped them yet.

Thanks for the input.

Excellent photo. I like it very much I feel like I’m there too (and I would like :)). But I don’t agree with B&W ideas, because I thing it’s perfect photo like it is.

Thanks Jck!

I didn't think any of them would reach all the way, as there were a lot of other nice ones submitted.

I'm very happy the viewers like this one, as it also is my favorite in the series.
