SW Ridge route (5): Looking...
SW Ridge route (5): Looking down (more or less South) at trail across tundra above first ridge. Trail is prominent and well marked with cairns. However, when you reach the base of the second ridge, the trail and cairns have led you to a point that is 100 to 200 yards EAST of a heavily-used and cairn-marked route up through the talus. There are multiple "routes" up this ridge, but look to the NW of this section of trail for cairns that mark one of the "main" alternatives.

While descending across the area in your photo in 1995 a storm blew in from the right (north) With my head buried inside my raingear hood I missed the the turnoff down into the willow basin and I spent some anxious moments in rough rocks beyond. I appreciate now having a photo to remember the experience. slowbutsteady
