Looking at this image, it is not difficult to imagine Tinkham Mountain coming to us as a medieval castle complete with moat and drawbridge, whose only access is via a graceful, serpentine trail, and illumination comes not from above, but rather from some inner source within the fields of beargrass...a mysterious place, lit only by fire. Mount Stimson is the flat-topped mountain immediately to Tinkham's left, with Mount Pinchot on the far left. Partially obscured by trees, Blackfoot Mountain is on the far right.
