I feel humbled when I stand next to organisms that are much older than me whether it's the bristlecone pine or "General Sherman" sequoia. They put me in my place :) Thanks for this amazing shot of the sentry/guardian tree.

this shot? Bristlecones are one of my favorite alpine trees along with the Alpine Larch found in Washington State. So many of the desert peaks have these ancient
beauties adorning their slopes or summit areas. Beautiful picture.

A study in contrasts. Very well composed picture. I love how gnarled the tree is. Twisted deadwood (or nearly dead) is my favorite photographic subject. Thanks for sharing.
