Hasn't voted | At least if that's from the Lava Tower west of Kibo. fastandlight went up Machame which goes by the Lava Tower west of Kibo. Mawenzi is east of Kibo and not in view at that point. Is there another Lava Tower (I'm only familiar with the one)? My guess is that this is looking west towards Meru. Here's a rough map of Kili showing the relative locations of the Lava Tower (Lava Tower Hut), Kibo (Uhuru Peak), and Mawenzi. Here's a diagram / drawing showing the profile from the south. Hasn't voted | Thank you for all the information, however I still fail to see how that is Meru. I could be wrong (do not have the best sense of direction!)
I do agree that it is a great photo. :-)

Hasn't voted | I agree with Diego. I climbed Mount Meru and Little Meru in September 2001, having attempted also Mount Kili. I don't think that mountain is Mawenzi.
