You walk on fossils by the millions, thus the need to pull a permit to climb Mt. Stephen, Yoho National Park, Canadian Rockies, 2003

Voted 10/10 | Are they just on Stephen? Pretty cool. I have dozens of leaf fossils from the shale beds of Pennsylvania coal country. | | Posted Nov 27, 2005 2:01 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hey Dug, they are across the way on Mount Burgess, Field Mountain, etc., but not in the number that they are located on Stephen.....I mean, just tons....when I pulled the permit, I had no idea what they could be so concerned about...until I started walking on them in droves.....a cool place...this is a 6000'++ route, but the main fossil bed is not that far up the trail. Cheers. | | Posted Nov 27, 2005 3:43 pm |

Voted 10/10 | That's a phenomenal trilobite!
I found a few trilobites in an interstate road cut some years ago near Chattanooga TN, but nothing in a matrix like that. | | Posted Nov 27, 2005 6:30 pm |
