Lou Whittaker jumping a...
Lou Whittaker jumping a crevasse during photo seminar I took with Ira Spring in Aug 1969. Kodachrome ASA 25, transferred to digital. Ira was sponsoring a special Photography seminar that year and this is one of about 200 pics I took. Ira and I were standing on a solid snow bridge about 10-15 feet down in the crevasse. Hey, Ira said it was safe. Ira's picture of this can be found on page 96 of his book "An Ice axe, A Camera, and A Jar of Peanut Butter" (published by the Mountaineers)

Thanks Bob. I also like this one better although the other one makes you wonder if he was going to make it.

The amazing thing is that he could probably still fit into those pants.

"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."   --Ernest Hemingway
