Here's an example of why you want to climb Twin Peaks. The views from the trail are incredible. From the north slope you see all the major peaks to the east: Baldy in the far distance, with Dawson and Pine Mountain just to the left; left of center the high point is Throop Peak, with Hawkins and Islip to the right and just below, respectively. A bit further up the trail Baden-Powell comes into view, as does Mount Williamson. The view east is equally amazing. Alas, the summit provides a view mostly of the city...
