The Summit Ridge of Cerro... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The Summit Ridge of Cerro...
The Summit Ridge of Cerro Aconcagua. It is sometimes known as the Guanaco ridge after the carcass of a guanaco - a relative of the llama - was found here a number of years ago. This was taken just below the summit on the 5th January 2003 and it shows the South Face and the South Summit.

... and your trip report was a fun and informative read.

Mine would read very similar as my fellow climbers and I started out trek in to Base Camp on 06Jan03.

We heard about the tragic death of the Korean climber. Wonderful of you and your team to lend a hand in an attempt to save him.

Good luck to you on future climbs / expeditions,

Liz

It's guanaco, not Guanarco.
