Castle Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Castle Peak
Photo of me standing at the edge of a small pond near Windy Saddle Pass with Castle Peak's North face behind me. The Big Gully Route can be seen on the left-hand side of the peak. I'd wanted to take a photo from here ever since I saw this Mark Lisk photo a few years ago.

That photo would be a truly great one during early morning light or late evening light. Great vista location.

Agreed. We were there just before noon with the sun directly overhead, so not ideal lighting. It was an excellent spot to break for lunch though.

I really like this picture. Although Castle Peak (and yourself) was the focus point obviously, I really like the view of Serrate Ridge in this shot. The angle at which it was taken really seems to stretch it out. Very nice!

Thanks. Was the view of Serrate Ridge from Lonesome Lake Peak a good one, or did Pk 10857’ kill the perspective?

Both Castle Peak and Serrate Ridge could bee seen from the summit of LLP, but I wouldn't say it's the best view of the two. Check it out here.
