Occasional small plumes of ash could be seen from Izta and the Paso de Cortes.

You won't believe this but I just read your message after arriving at our hotel in Quito after summitting Cayambe- I saw a better eruption from El Reventador while we were on the summit a few hours ago. What a coincidence! Too bad my fingers were too numb to take a picture of it after taking several already.
