Hasn't voted | The duct tape is only wrapped around the head of the ax a couple of times to hold a thin piece of closed cell foam. The foam insulates your hands so the ax doesn't act like a heat sink and suck all the heat out of your fingers leading to frost bite. It won't impede a self arrest. | | Posted Aug 7, 2006 8:07 pm |
