| Big Boulder Lakes | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Here are a few of the Big Boulder Lakes as seen from Pt 10500'+ to the north. The two large lakes are Cove and Sapphire, the smaller ones in the distance are Gentian, Boulder and Snow Lakes. The tiny but beautiful Hook Lake is just visible on the left side of the photo, in front of Cove Lake. The pyramid shaped summit in the background is Peak 11272’, with Castle Peak over its left shoulder and Lonesome Peak over its right.

Voted 10/10 | What a great shot. This one definitely inspires that sense of wonder one often feels when in the mountains. Thanks for posting.

Hasn't voted | Thanks SR, glad you liked it. You’ll have to make a return trip to the White Clouds and check out this area. | | Posted Mar 21, 2006 12:18 am |

Voted 10/10 | I made first multi-night trip to this area several years ago, and will never forget how much there is to do in this basin. Like you mentioned on the WC page, it truely is a scramblers paradise! I remember wanting to climb this peak, but ended up settling for it's little brother on the left, peak 10881 and WCP 9 the next day. | | Posted Mar 21, 2006 3:53 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. I got lucky with the timing. A couple weeks later and the snow would've been nearly gone. A couple weeks earlier and the wildflowers wouldn't have been blooming yet. | | Posted Sep 14, 2006 6:24 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Romek. The lakes are usually even more colorful when the sun is out. But the skies were pretty overcast the day I took this photo.

Hasn't voted | Found your shot and immediately recognized the image: I took a shot from nearly the exact same spot in Aug. 2001.. Funny to see them side by side, mine is sans snow. | | Posted May 16, 2007 2:00 pm |
