Voted 10/10 | Most of that face looks unclimbable. It's hard to tell from here, but that crack just left of the right edge looks doable. One of you guys should go for the first ascent. | | Posted Mar 18, 2003 3:51 pm |

Hasn't voted | I had two intentions in developing this page. 1: Draw attention to the fun climb up Courthouse, and exciting San Juan summit. 2: Highlight Chimney Peak, which is considered by many to be equal or harder in difficulty compared to Lizard Head, Colorado's most challenging summit. Some folks might think ChimneyRock deserves that distinction. If it has been climbed regularly, there are few records to prove it. SP could serve in this capacity. I wanted to present a challenge to SP's growing community of technical climbers. First ascent opportunities are certainly here, as well as in much of the San Juan.
Officially, only the route up the south face chimney exists on this mountain. I agree that the route you suggest is at least worthy of investigation, if not an attempt. Time will tell! | | Posted Mar 19, 2003 9:44 am |
