Rapping into the Notch

Marella rappeling into the Notch on the Bancroft East Ridge (photo by Zach Wilson). Andy stands in the Notch while Mike and Chris wait for their turn on-rope. This incredible photo was taken by two snowboarders we met on the approach who ascended the Bancroft Bowl to the summit. We later met them on the summit and exchanged email addresses. Compare with this photo taken in the Notch at the same time. Great stuff! April 23, 2006.

I was wondering...

how you managed this shot until I read your caption. I was thinking, "So they hired a photographer?" :) Very cool!

We spared no expense! ;-) Yeah it was fortuitous that we ran into those guys on the summit again.
