Ramada and Guanacos
Ramada (6384m) and a small herd of Guanacos.
The photo shot on about 4000m. The normal route follows the left hand side skyline ridge.

They look like smaller kind of llamas. A rare sighting?

It's a kind of Llamas. They are all over Los Andes and it's not a rare sighting. In this part of the range they are very shy and usually run away quickly. On this occasion they were confused as we had arrived without them noticing it. Walked around in circles for a while before panicking away.

Alpackas are my favourite among the llamas, very sweet.
