My friend Tina took this picture of me while we were hiking to Wiwaxy Gap via the Alpine Route trail. The trails around the Lake O'Hara area were built as a labour of love by the late Lawrence Grassi, a legendary figure in the history of Yoho National Park. Yoho National Park is home to many such legends - both past and present. Grassi's work has helped prevent the inevitable erosion that would have occured with the growing popularity of the area. Since 1976, Yoho park has also intervened and limited the number of people who visit Lake O'Hara.
