Complete Wind Rivers [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Complete Wind Rivers
The Wind River Range from the southwest. Late April, 2006.

This is roughly a 90 degree view, with the left end of the image looking North and the right end looking East. Although this panorama is good for general orientation, there are foreshortening and perspective issues that make the range look simpler and more accessible than it truly is. Also, the complex northern end of the range is viewed from a distance, and in this position you are almost looking up the crest on that end of the range.

To see the north end, see the image "Core of the Winds"

The base of the range is generally about 10 miles away, while the crest of the foothill ledge is about 15 miles away. The main range crest is 25 miles away. Atlantic Peak is 30 miles away, Fremont Peak is 40 miles away, and Gannet Peak is at 45 miles in this view.

I like it, very informative, and thank you for posting on SP. Maybe you should add it to the US highpoints page, for Gannet Peak, WY? It might help others looking at that area, especially H.P.er's. Good job overlaying the photo's!

Wow. An amazing pano. The indicators you typed make the pic. I assume this is a stitched pano of at least 12-15 pics. How did you get it so that the seams were not visible?
