Traversing the Sulzliklamm [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Traversing the Sulzliklamm
While traversing the Sulziklamm on wet, insecure snow, we continued straight up instead of traversing. We were eventually "treed" on a rock outcrop, which at least made a handy rappel anchor to get back down. The green line shows the correct way.

It's hard to see in this photo, but going left appeared really creepy in the 50 degree rotten snow sometimes with slabby rock just underneath. I kept hoping to find some piece of fixed cable to use as protection. The rest of our party had gotten very cold while Daniel and I hunted fruitlessly for cables in the snow at the high point. It was time to retreat!
