I drew this topo from personal experience on the route, as well as from some detailed photos. The numbered areas on the topo represent detail areas depicted by other SP photos. 1 2 3 4

Hasn't voted | The first time I climbed this route, we got off route (on the first pitch!!) and took most of the day finishing the route. Remembering that the 1st ascentionists took only slightly more than 3 hours, it was a little embarassing to take so long for a repeat of such a well-traveled route. So, although it was a little bit of work, it made sense to help others avoid our mistake. The last time we climbed this route, it took only about 2 hours because the route-finding was no longer an issue. The route-finding is not overly difficult here, but it is a big face, with lots of options. Anyway, David, thanks for the kind words. | | Posted Nov 18, 2003 4:52 pm |

Voted 10/10 | This represents what SP is all about - original route/climb beta not found elsewhere. Not sure who'd vote it lower than 4-stars? | | Posted Mar 10, 2004 4:40 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Great stuff-
I sure could have used this info when we did it last summer. You have any pictures around the Great Alcove this area is a little tricky after leaving the Washboards.

Hasn't voted | I don't have any good photos of the alcove area, but you're right, that area right before the Fresh Air Traverse is a bit confusing if you haven't been there before. | | Posted Mar 11, 2004 8:34 am |
