Northern view of Gannett Peak as seen from the Ink Wells trail. Gannett Glacier flows down the north side of the peak; it's the largest glacier in the lower 48 states. Floyd Wilson Meadow can be seen in the foreground. Photo taken July 24, 2006. This photo was selected for the cover of the Nov 1, 2007 edition of the The American Surveyor in conjunction with an article about Henry Gannett.

Voted 10/10 | That is a great view of Gannett. I am planning to do it from Dubois next year and this gives me a feel for Wilson Meadows. | | Posted Aug 2, 2006 3:08 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the votes Dean. I wish you success with your trip. Floyd Wilson Meadow is looong, with no fewer than half dozen stream crossings, most of them over logs. Some of them are somewhat hidden. Let me know if I can help with any beta... | | Posted Aug 2, 2006 6:27 pm |
| 96avs01 | Very Nice View! | |
Voted 10/10 | Hoping to get there this August, although the lack of snow may force us to defer to another year. Cheers, Chris | | Posted May 4, 2007 7:55 pm |

Hasn't voted | Good luck! Most people take the Gooseneck Glacier route up Gannett. However, the Gannett Glacier on the north side looks pretty invting. It might be a good alternative in a low snow year (northern exposure). | | Posted May 5, 2007 11:12 am |
