here's another pic of the silverpick (wilson peak approach) avalanche - from a distance. shows the true extent of the upper drop - the first pic showed it foreshortened. the upper drop did hit a little bench and then cascade onto a lower slope, dropping that too. you can see the rock of ages col to the extreme left of the picture.
