Hasn't voted | Great picture, and great trip report! In the distance am I looking at basically Williamson, Whitney and Langley? | | Posted Aug 24, 2006 6:45 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks, MrWasatch. Short answer: yes(?). I know those three peaks are on the southern end of the Sierra Crest, and you're looking at about 20 miles of the SC. But I really can't point out individual summits--didn't do enough hiking down there. Hopefully some others will chime in, though. | | Posted Aug 24, 2006 8:13 pm |
| Gene | My best guess | | Hasn't voted | My best guess is that Whitney is the peak directly above the first pinnacle on the ridge in the foreground, with Russell to the left of the far away notch. The far away ragged ridge in the middle of the photo are probably LeConte and Corcoran, with Langley further right. Williamson may be the dark peak over on the far left.
Other opinions/verification?
Nice TR and photo.

Voted 10/10 | Whitney is the triangular-looking peak almost directly underneath the far-rightmost edge of the cloud. Russell would be the first biggish mountain to its L. Would need to look @ everything more closely to determine more. | | Posted Jul 26, 2007 7:43 pm |

Hasn't voted | I believe (hopefully rightfully), the peaks are from left, Tyndall, Williamson (dark one), Trojan, Barnard, Tunnabora, Carillon, Russell, Whitney, Muir (down ridge), Irvine, Mallory, LeConte, Corchran, Langley (Above Pickett Guard), Chamberlain (?), Cirque, and to the right of Red Kaweah, I believe, is Olancha Peak. Whew! Hope I'm correct. | | Posted Jun 27, 2008 3:43 pm |
