Steinbock in the Gran Paradiso Park
One of more and more steinbocks living in the Vallone del Lauson. During the descent from the summit is impossibile to not meet them. 10 August 2006

It's difficult, since judging from the big horns it seems simply a (fat) male.
Females can be recognized because of the very shorter (and not bent) horns.

Thank you very much Anya. As you know in that area it's impossible not seeing animals and you can make a lot of photos.

Maybe easy to take but you did it great! Fantastic shot.
He (or she, but Livioz states that's male- I have no idea:)) looks like posing to the photo. Every steinbock poses while taking a picture of him? Are they curious?

No, they are not curious and are not interested in hikers. You can turn around them to find the best picture, not disturbing their activities (eating).
